Together we are striving for early detection. There is no early detection screening test for ovarian cancer. Because their diagnosis comes too late, 70% of women do not survive longer than 5 years. With early detection, survival rates will increase dramatically to 90%.
The Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope is the largest event in the country raising money solely for ovarian cancer. Together, we strive for early detection.
The Walk of Hope was founded in 2002 by Peggy Truscott, a dedicated volunteer and a woman with ovarian cancer. Her vision was to create an event that would help raise awareness about the disease as well as develop more visible support and a sense of community for women and their families touched by ovarian cancer.
