Living with cancer has been a spiritual journey, filled with the love and support from my family, friends and colleagues, as well as with feelings of sadness and fear.
My artist friend, Joan Richardson, presented me with a sunflower painting. Unbeknownst to Joan, the sunflower is the symbol for the National Ovarian Cancer Association, now the new Ovarian Cancer Canada. When I saw her painting, my idea of being able to give something back through education and fundraising, came to life.
