Online CME for Family Physicians

Ovarian Cancer Canada is proud to partner with McMaster University and Memorial University to deliver an online accredited course in ovarian cancer for family physicians.

Early Detection and Management of Ovarian Cancer

A face to face accredited continuous education program about ovarian cancer offered in collaboration with Mc Master University. The objectives are that participants will be able to:

  • Inquire about family history to identify risk factors with respect to the genetic predisposition to breast, ovarian and colon cancer.
  • Detect symptoms and warning signs that may raise suspicion of ovarian cancer.
  • Identify and understand diagnostic tests that will impact the diagnosis and management of ovarian cancer.
  • Identify when to refer the patient to a specialist and how to write a referral to reduce the wait times for the patient.
  • Understand and describe the role of Family Physicians, Nurses and Gynecologic Oncologists in the diagnosis of a patient who may be suspected of having ovarian cancer.

This course is ideal for Family physicians, Nurses and Nurse Practitioners.

Ovarian Cancer Canada also provides a Trainee Award to medical students that qualify, as well as an Elective Grant available to eligible residents who chose gynecologic oncology as an elective.
