Awareness Programs

One of our top priorities is to communicate, foster and increase ovarian cancer awareness among women, healthcare professionals and the general public across Canada.

Until there is a cure, early detection and prevention are the only way to save lives.

Programs

Ovarian Cancer Canada’s resources are available free of charge, anywhere in Canada. We welcome the assistance of local volunteers to represent us at health and wellness fairs, information booths, as well as presenting “Listen to the Whispers” education sessions in community settings. Listen to the Whispers

Ovarian Cancer Canada developed "Listen to the Whispers," an enormously successful awareness program that has been presented at hundreds of venues to thousands of women across Canada. The program is designed to help effectively spread the word about the subtle signs and symptoms of this cruel disease.

"Listen to the Whispers" is a 60-minute education and awareness program created specifically for women. This is a free program delivered by volunteers at the community level - at community centres, in the workplace, places of worship, etc. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the signs, symptoms, risks and preventative factors of ovarian cancer.

The Ovarian Cancer Information Project

General Fact Sheet

To spread the key messages of ovarian cancer awareness: the signs & symptoms, that a Pap test does not detect it, that there is no screening test and the risk factors, Ovarian Cancer Canada through the Ovarian Cancer Information Project (a partnership with Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre) developed awareness fact sheets for women and for healthcare professionals.
